Wan Ahmad Saifuddin has had extensive experience in the Education, eBusiness , Management Consulting as well as Corporate Transformation, as Entrepreneur, Head of Unit, Project Leader, Senior Management and CEO. He has built up a strong reputation in the field of Education, eLearning and Knowledge Management, having set-up an eLearning company for Petronas from ground up.
He has had previous experience in setting up his own company in the IT Industry and securing investments. He has undertaken Consultancy Projects for various clients involving Strategic Analysis and Product Development. He had set up the Malaysian Directors Academy (MINDA) for Ministry of Finance, Malaysia under the Government-Linked Companies (GLC) Transformation Programme managed by Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
He had also headed the Education Unit in Khazanah, and was responsible for the Trust School Programme, a PPP Public School Transformation Programme with the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and was also a Founding Board of Trustees member for Teach for Malaysia. After joining Ekuiti Nasional Berhad and assisting in several acquisitions of Education Assets, he was subsequently appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Unitar Capital Sdn. Bhd., the management company of UNITAR International University. He was also responsible for setting up and playing the role of Acting CEO and Chief Transformation Officer for MARA Corporation Sdn. Bhd., a Strategic Investment Holding Company for MARA.
Before he joined EduCity as a Managing Director in 2019, he was the Executive Vice President of Special Projects, Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB), focusing on the Corporate Transformation of the IIB Group of Companies, as well as its Digital Strategy.
Now he leads EduCity, a catalytic development driven by IIB. As a fully integrated education hub, EduCity is positioned as a feeder of talents to support Iskandar Malaysia’s various economic activities whilst grooming future generations of leaders. Partnering with world-class education institutions, EduCity with its universities, colleges and international schools, R&D centres, and integrated with student accommodation and recreational and sports facilities is the first of its kind in Asia.
